What are the data entry permissions for a user?

The Data entry permissions for a user allow the user to use free text for specific fields. This allows them to type in the field instead of selecting from the prepopulated list. The fields the data entry permissions can be set for are:

• Vendor
• Delivery Location
• Charge To Accounts
• Item
• Departments

In most cases free text should only be allowed for the item field. If a user is allowed free text then the field will not be fully managed and controlled in the system. This can also cause problems when trying to link to a financial package.
